GROUP LESSONS

30 Minute Lesson

  • Vocal warm up: 10 minute intensive session which includes scale work, pitch matching, vowel study and round work.

  • Repertoire: 20 minutes working on music of your choice, incorporating elements of vowel alignment, postural awareness, clear diction, smooth phrasing, characterization and musicality. Under the teacher’s guidance, pieces are chosen when encourage harmonization and part singing.

  • Breath work: 5 minutes exploring concepts of inhalation, suspension and release.

  • Vocal warm up: 10 minute intensive session which includes scale work, vowel study, seamlessly connecting different registers, strengthening elements of head and chest voice and creating a free, even and beautiful sound. In this group setting there is an opportunity to work on harmonization and round singing.

  • Repertoire: 30 minutes working on music of your choice, incorporating elements of vowel alignment, postural awareness, clear diction, smooth phrasing, characterization and musicality. Duets and trios from musical theatre, classical or contemporary works are chosen to encourage musical collaboration and build an invaluable skill-set of working in harmony with others.

45 Minute Lesson

1 Hour Lesson

  • Breath work: 5 minutes exploring concepts of inhalation, suspension and release.

  • Vocal warm up: 20 minute intensive session which includes scale work, vowel study, seamlessly connecting different registers, strengthening elements of head and chest voice, agility, creating a free, even and beautiful sound. Within the group setting, students learn to successfully harmonize, engaging in a simultaneous musical dialogue with others

  • Interval training and / or sight-singing and / or aural skills: 5 minutes

  • Repertoire: 30 minutes working on music of your choice, incorporating elements of the Bel Canto Italianate style and Estill Voice Training with vowel alignment, postural awareness, accurate intonation, clear diction, smooth phrasing, dynamic range, IPA study, characterization and musicality. Duets and trios from musical theatre, classical or contemporary works are chosen to encourage musical collaboration and build an invaluable skill-set of working in harmony with others. This holistic setting expands upon the individual experience of music making and stimulates musical growth, awareness and social bonding.
